Actually, the serious job search is going to wait a little bit. School for the kiddo just started and I want to get a few things in order before I have the worry of a new job thrown in there! One of those things being my poor dead little laptop! Seems the motherboard is kaput!! *sigh* I HATE being tied down to just my desktop! Guess I need to reasearch a new system!

Add it to the wishlist of IT, new video card, 2nd monitor setup, new desk, some references...
Man, being an MT is EXPENSIVE!

I did apply with one company on a lead from a fellow graduate. Not wanting to miss the boat, I shot off my resume to them a few days ago.
... waiting to hear back.

...and so it begins...

Well! It's Officially Official!!
After almost 3 1/2 long years... As of August 11th...
I am a graduate of M-TEC!!

I even got it a nice frame and it's proudly hanging on my wall!
Now, I suppose I should apply for a job??

I have been through SO much the past 4 years, and I am sure there were more than a few people who did not think I would ever finish! Through several family disasters, a new baby... pregnancy and a 2nd baby (who will be 3 in a month!!!!), 2 cross-county moves, some pretty serious health issues, and boatloads of help from extended family...and TONS of perserverance!! I crossed the finish line! So to those naysayers and doubters, I say:  :-P   ppphhhhhbbbtttt!!

Wow, I must apologize! Has it really been about 8 months since my last visit?? Again, I am sorry. I will bake you some gluten-free cupcakes! ;)

What has happened in the last 8 months? Life!
But this last month has been good! Let me fill you in a bit!

Since December...
My oldest daughter was officially diagnosed with Celiac disease... and then a few months ago so was I! That has been quite a journey thus far, let me tell you! Multiple doctors appointments each week. yikes! Easier for her than me, I think!
We had a few holidays in there...
Got in touch with some old friends...
Crash my laptop (see below)... then crashed my desktop... then just recently crashed my laptop AGAIN!...
I moved...

Oh oh!!! The most important part! I finally finish my studies with M-TEC this last week and turned in my Final (the Pre-employment Exam)!! I am still waiting on my grade, so I am not "officially" graduated, but close enough that I can share with the blogosphere!

Thank you! Thank you! Oh no, applause isn't necessary! Stop you're making me blush!

So that's it in a nutshell! I will be back soon... I owe you some cupcakes, right? ;)

No American has died of old age since 1951. That was the year that the government eliminated that classification from death certificates.

Thou shalt not download and install unverified software without first backing up all files!

I love my laptop. I live on my laptop. I have 4 months worth of completed assignments waiting to be submitted and all my pictures -birthdays, holidays- from the past 6 months on my laptop.

...and only on my laptop.

...which is now inaccessable due to a nasty little bug I installed. *cringe* I don't think "a Trojan virus ate my homework" excuse is going to work with my instructor!

I am loathe to redo all that work, so I am going to pay over my pretty pennies to some SuperGeek to get my life back! ... and yes, lesson learned!

Men can have 8 million genetically different sperm, and women a like number of egg types. Together they can produce 64 billion children with no genetic duplicates.

I have discovered there are advantages to having all this medical lingo rattling around in my noggin, especially when your child's doc orders a battery of blood tests:
  • Celiac Panel
  • Allergen Basic Food Panel
  • Complete Metabolic Panel
  • CBC w Diff w Plt
  • Thyroxine (T4) Free
  • TSH, 3rd Generation
I even have the knowledge to know what the 780.00 ICD-9 Diagnosis code is on her paperwork.. and how to find what it means!

It is empowering to know exactly what is being done to help your child, and to be able to insist on certain tests, and know what the possible outcomes and next steps are.

Now, unfortunately, it is just a waiting game. We are waiting 2 weeks before actually performing the blood tests, because she had to be put back on a gluten-rich diet in order to test for the antibodies that would determine Celiac disease. Then we have 2 additional weeks wait for the results to come back.

She dosen't mind though, she is getting the 1st 'real' bread, pizza, donuts, etc., she has had in 3 months!

Only ten percent of the 100,000,000,000,000 cells inside each one of us are human. The rest are bacteria, fungi, and other microbes.

Not very far along I must say!

In the past 4 weeks since my last post, I did submit my STU GI test and thankfully did better than my average as far as grade! -That is my goal for each exam.. do as good as or better than my GPA, which is kinda getting hard to do. O_o

I also then submited and recieved a reply back regarding my STU GU Practice Dictations, as well as finishing up the STU Head/Neck section for Session 18.

Now just to turn in my STU GU test and I can start preparing Session 17's assignments for submission and continue working on Session 18! My end-of-the-year completion goal is sneaking up on me faster than I would like!
